ABS树脂是五大合成树脂之一，其抗冲击性、耐热性、耐低温性、耐化学药品性及电气性能优良，还具有易加工、制品尺寸稳定、表面光泽性好等特点，容易涂装、着色，还可以进行表面喷镀金属、电镀、焊接、热压和粘接等二次加工，广泛应用于机械、汽车、电子电器、仪器仪表、纺织和建筑等工业领域，是一种用途极广的热塑性工程塑料 ABS物料性能: 综合性能较好,冲击强度较高,化学稳定性,电性能良好； 与372有机玻璃的熔接性良好,制成双色塑件,且可表面镀铬,喷漆处理； 有高抗冲、高耐热、阻燃、增强、透明等级别； 流动性比HIPS差一点，比PMMA、PC等好，柔韧性好； 适于制作一般机械零件,减磨耐磨零件,传动零件和电讯零件。 常规性能 塑料ABS无毒、无味，外观呈象牙色半透明，或透明颗粒或粉状。密度为1.05~1.18g/㎝3,收缩率为0.4%~0.9%,弹性模量值为0.2Gpa,泊松比值为0.394，吸湿性 <1%，熔融温度217~237℃，热分解温度>250℃。 塑料ABS也可以说是聚苯乙烯的改性，比HIPS有较高的抗冲击强度和更好的机械强度，具有良好的加工性能，可以使用注塑机、挤出机等塑料成型设备进行注塑、挤塑、吹塑、压延、层合、发泡、热成型，还可以焊接、涂覆、电镀和机械加工。ABS的吸水性比较高，加工前需进行干燥处理，干燥温度为70~85℃，干燥时间为2~6h；ABS制品在加工中容易产生内应力，如应力太大，致使产品开裂，应进行退火处理，把制件放于70~80℃的热风循环干燥箱内2~4h，再冷却至室温即可。挤出工艺 挤出。塑料ABS生产管材、板材、片材、及型材等制品，管材可用于各种水管、气管、润滑油及燃料油的输送管；板材、片材可用于地板、家具、池槽、过滤器、墙壁隔层及热成型或真空成型。挤出机的螺杆长径比通常比较高，L/D为18~22之间，压缩比为（2.5~3.0）：1，宜用渐变型带鱼雷头螺杆，料筒温度分别为：料斗部150~160℃，料筒前部180~190℃，模头温度185~195℃，模具温度180~200℃，其次吹塑成型温度可控制在140~180℃之间。注意事项 1. 开机与停机对于阻燃级ABS为了防止阻燃剂发生分解，有严格的要求。在开机吋，应先对料筒用通用级ABS进行清洗，然后再加工。在停机前（指停机20分钟以上者），一方面须将料筒温度降低至100X：以下，另一方面须排空料筒内的物料，并用通用级ABS清洗料筒后方可停机。其目的是使阻燃级ABS不发生分解。2. 再生料的利用对于一次或二次性的千净、无杂质、无分解物存在的ABS再生料，可以粉碎后直接使用，也可以与新料混合使用，其混合的比例一般不超过新料的25%，以免影响性能。对于再生次数超过5次以上的或者添加有着色剂的再生料，一般不与新料混合使用，主要是防止造成色差。不论是单独的再生料或与新料混合使用的再生料，都必须按规定进行干燥处理后，方可投入成型加工。后处理对于使用要求较为苛刻的ABS制品，为了消除或减少内应力，须将制品放人温度为70～80C的热风循环干燥箱内，处理2～4小时，缓慢冷却至室温即可。与其它塑料一样ABS制品中也因各种因素而造成的内应力（其大小可根据制件浸人冰醋酸溶液中是否发生开裂及其开裂时间的长短进行判断）。但是，在一般的情况下，很少发生应力开裂问题。为此，ABS制品通常不作后处理即可投入使用。
